Adoptive Families Overview
Adoption is a lifelong process for providing a permanent loving and safe home to a child in need. As part of this process, it is critical for adoptive families to have access to pre- and post-placement support that strengthens their families, and enables them to handle the challenges of adoptive parenting.
The road traveled by adoptive families is often complicated and full of surprises. Negotiating the path is not always clear, and frequently seems uncharted. Families find themselves wanting answers and sometimes not knowing the questions to ask. Many adoptive families face a daunting variety of physical and emotional special needs, and frequently don't know where to turn.
FACES offers help to adoptive families to identify support and resources to meet these challenges.
