You have not been FORGOTTEN!
After analysis of the Governor's budget, FACES found that there was no proposed rate increase for basic maintenance payments to reimburse foster families.
According to the Virginia Appropriation Act, each year following a state employee pay increase the maintenance rates of foster parents are to increase. Last year, state employees received a 5% increase.
We have contact the Virginia Department of Social Services about this oversight and are waiting to hear either an explanation or a plan for amending the budget act.
At this time, no action is necessary on your part, but we wanted you to know that YOU HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN!
